A Resolution

Relating to the restoration of parliamentary procedure and normal Student Senate function.

WHEREAS, the LeTourneau University Student Senate is charged with conducting its business in an orderly, and responsible manner; and

WHEREAS, the Student Senate has failed to use formal parliamentary procedure or fulfill all constitutional responsibilities; and

WHEREAS, the Student Senate sees it appropriate to formally announce and document its objectives; and

WHEREAS, this resolution is intended to serve, in part, as a practical reminder to the Student Senate of the availability of resolutions as legislation and of their proper structure;

RESOLVED, by the LeTourneau University Student Senate, that the Senate determines to restore parliamentary procedure and consistent conduct for its meetings;

RESOLVED, that the Senate recognizes that the Public Records and Relations Committee has been charged, by previously adopted motion, with various responsibilities to clarify the rules of Senate proceedings, set forth the standard for meeting agendas and structure, make recommendations for other related matters of order and clarity, and to present all this to the assembled Student Senate.
