How To Become A Senator

Please follow these steps:

  1. Check our list of current senators to see if there is an opening for your residency category (floor/commuter/apartments). Max of 2 Senators per floor*

  2. If there is an opening, your floor must approve you (via election, cult ritual, etc...) and your RA must email the approval to the Student Body Vice President:

  3. Then, the Vice President, Luke Avent, will contact you to have you introduced to the senate and sworn in. Then you may begin to serve God and your fellow students faithfully in the duties of the office of Senator!

  • If you are going to be moving to a different floor, make sure to campaign on the floor you will live on next semester.

  • If you are in a paid IMPACT position, such as an RA or PA, you must receive the approval of the Senate before you can be sworn in.

  • If you have any questions about the election process, feel free to contact one of our Senate Officers.

*The number of open positions per floor is based on the floor population. The number of Senators allowed per voting district shall be determined according to the last Fall Residence Life official housing list. A floor needs at least five people to have one senator. After twenty-five, an additional slot is granted, and so on for each additional twenty-five residents. For example, if a floor has twenty-six people on it, they can have two senators. After they reach fifty-one residents, they can have three senators.

Thank you for your interest in pursuing this great opportunity!
