A bill to promote Senate through advertising.

Be it enacted by the LeTourneau University Student Senate

Short Title

Section A.

This act may be referred to as the "Sippy Cup Sponsorship of Fall 2022"

Appropriations

Section B.

1. $1 (one dollar) shall be paid to Citizen Ian Lounsbury for the immense privilege of having a senate sticker shlapped onto his sippy cup.

Effective Date

Section C.

This act shall become effective upon passage.

Stipulations

Section D.

Advertising shall consist of a Senate sticker to be shlapped onto the sippy cup in question. If it wears out or otherwise falls off, it shall be replaced at Senate's expense. Should Citizen Lounsbury intentionally remove it or cause it to be removed through irresponsible behavior, he may refund Senate double the original sponsorship price (to be adjusted for inflation) or replace the sticker at his own expense.

Explanations and Reasoning

Section E.

Senate recruitment being low at this time, it makes sense to increase advertising. For only $1, we have an opportunity to sponsor a sippy cup owned and frequently used by a prominent member of our community, Ian Lansbury. He is open to and enthusiastic about this idea. This will give us advertising power and help recruit more senators. The unusual nature of the sponsorship will only make it more noticed. More people will know about Senate through this bill for only a dollar out of a budget that runs into the thousands.
