Ultimate Senate Ice Cream Funding Bill of Spring 2021

Relating to the purchase of ice cream for the Super Senate Friday Ice Cream Social and the Fire Station Appreciation thank you gift.

Be it enacted by the LeTourneau University Student Senate

Short Title

Section A.

This act may be referred to as the "Ultimate Senate Ice Cream Funding Bill of Spring 2021"

Appropriations

Section B.

1. A total of five hundred ($500) dollars will be allocated for the purchase of ice cream, ice cream toppings, and supplies for the Super Senate Friday Ice Cream Social.

2. A total of two hundred ($200) dollars will be allocated for the purchase of ice cream for the Fire Station Appreciation thank you gift.

3. All funds not used in this manner shall revert back to the Senate General Fund.

Effective Date

Section C.

This bill shall become effective upon passage

Stipulations

Section D.

The Ultimate Senate Friday Ice Cream Social event and distribution of Ice Cream and Ice Cream toppings will be in accordance with current COVID-19 regulations.

Explanations and Reasoning

Section E.

As the time ticks closer to Finals week, most students on campus will be stressing and rushing around to prepare and finalize their grades. In a spirit of good cheer, this bill would help fund the Super Senate Friday Ice Cream Social, where we will be serving ice cream from the tub and covering the ice cream scoops with a plethora of toppings! This will be a great event for everyone to enjoy and take a break from the crazy week.

Also, a portion of this bill will be allocated to buying tubs of ice cream for the local Fire Station firefighters who, on several occasions, drove to Letourneau University at 2am replying to fire alarms going off. This ice cream gift will be given alongside a thank you card signed by Student Senate thanking the fire fighters for their continual patience and sacrifice of sleep to aid us.
