Relating to the funding assistance requested to supplement floor funds to improve the 4B lounge

Be it enacted by the LeTourneau University Student Senate

Short Title

Section A.

The "4B Some Tech Used for For Fun Funding Bill of Spring 2022" may be referred to as the "4B S.T.U.F.F.F. Bill of Spring 2022.”

Appropriations

Section B.

1. A total of two hundred and fifty (250) dollars will be allocated to Tyler Hall East Floor 4B for the purchase of one soundbar and miscellaneous accessories (including, but not limited to: cables, mounting hardware, and power strips).

2. All funds not used in this manner shall revert to the Senate General Fund

Effective Date

Section C.

This act shall become effective upon passage.

Stipulations

Section D.

1. A Student Senate sticker shall be schlabbadabbadooed on the soundbar unit in honor of Senate's help.

Explanations and Reasoning

Section E.

Tyler Hall East 4B (4B) has been going through a bit of a revival during this spring semester. In the last couple of years, the floor has gone from being a mere extension of 3B, to an asylum for Mabee Hall, and now to an individual floor by itself. The floor lounge is where this change is most visible. Many floor resources have been used to reinvigorate a once sparse and messy room into a furnished and livable space for fun and relaxation.

Senate sponsorship of a soundbar unit will be a great assistance to this effort. This improvement to our lounge audio will help the floor have appeal to residents for years to come. Currently, at least one movie is watched in the lounge a week, so an immediate impact will be felt. Also, this funding will alleviate pressure on floor funds, allowing 4B to have resources to continue with floor culture building activities in the future.
