Reports:
PPT Chandler: Club funding meeting on Saturday.
VP Zoboroski: Yeah, Saturday 1PM in the Steudler Lounge. If you're gonna present a budget, you should probably just show up. We're gonna need some volunteers for that, so please show up. If you are volunteering, please let it be known.
Chairman Amerson: I cleared out the brush in front of the duck-cam. We should be getting photos and videos soon.
Special Business:
VP Zoboroski: How many new people have been trained and been to at least one session?
PPT Chandler: Three.
VP Zoboroski: Alright come up here so y'all can get sworn in.
Senators Craycraft, Worley, and Boss sworn in.
VP Zoboroski: Other newcomers, if you're interested in being a senator, please just let us know, stick around after session to get some more information.

New Business:
Announcements:
VP Zoboroski: Uhh, I guess Ice Cream on Friday.
Open Forum:
PPT Chandler: Do we have those student life emails that we can pull up?
Chairman Amerson: Do any new guys have any questions? (No response) ...Okay.
VP Zoboroski goes back and reads through the Student Life Email
Dr. Conn shows up.
VP Zoboroski starts reading suggestion box cards.
VP Zoboroski: Does the commuter microwave work?
Senator Worley: As far as I know, yeah.
VP Zoboroski: Okay, so this person doesn't know how to use a microwave.
VP Zoboroski: Where on campus would we want more tables for a study area?
Chairman Amerson: In kinda like the courtyard between Gilbert, Davis, and South. There's a whole bunch of benches but they all are falling apart.
PPT Chandler: So we had the suggestion that we slap cheese on Dr. Conn's head. But this isn't just any cheese, it won the award for the American cheese society's best cheese.
Senator Farley: Did we spend senate money on this?
PPT Chandler: No, we did not.
PPT Chandler places cheese on Dr. Conn, applause follows.
Dr. Conn: That's some quality stuff.
Funding for Intersociety Rope Pull Bill is brought up
Chairman Amerson: So its Intersociety, does that mean only the societies participate?
PPT Chandler: Have you considered tying two ropes together?
Chairman Reeve: With the ones we have now, they've been through a lot of stress and strain, so it would be a lot less viable to tie them together.
Senator Farley: Is there any reason why you specifically mentioned that the funding will not be used for alcohol?
Dr. Conn: Would a rope soaked in alcohol qualify?
Senator Farley: What if the rope was made of drugs?
Dr. Conn: Sorry, I was just feeling silly. I understand what you mean.
More semantic questions about the rope arise.
Senator Hefley: If you were to get two smaller ropes and it's a lot cheaper, will the remaining funds go back to senate?
Funding for Intersociety Rope Pull Bill amended to bring all remaining funds back to Senate general fund, and is passed.
Funding for Intersociety Block Party Fall 2025 is brought up. It is immediately amended to return all remaining funds back to Senate general fund.
Chairman Amerson: So, what are the society house dues used for?
Chairman Reeve: They're used for the upkeep of the house.
Senator Kodama: They're the equivalent of floor funds.
Senator Hefley: Has Senate ever funded this in the past?
Chairman Reeve: No. However, we have been progressively opening our doors up to more and more students. We want to keep this engagement, but it does cost a lot.
Senator Hefley: It seems like instead of just starting out with the $1000, maybe you should just ask for less this year, and then if it seems like a good turnout, then maybe in following years we can raise that number.
Senator Farley: How much was the block party last year?
Chairman Reeve: Ballpark, around $600-700
Funding for Intersociety Block Party Fall 2025 is amended to $500 and is passed.
Funding for KZX Soceity Social Engagement Bill brought up.
Chairman Amerson: How many students besides KSX have come to these parties in the past?
Chairman Reeve: Like I said previously, it is growing. During last year's Christmas and Super Bowl Party...
Senator Farley: Don't count the super bowl, everyone goes to a Super Bowl party.
Chairman Reeve: Not counting KZX members, about 10 or 11.
Senator Farley: Has senate done this in the past?
Chairman Reeve: No.
Senator Hefley: We just approved a bill that helps alleviate money from the members so that y'all can fund this with your own money.
Senator Farley: It makes sense that the block party would get Senate Funding, as that's an all campus thing, but if this is just for KZX, it doesn't make as much sense.
Dr. Conn: Senate does not fund living areas, that's why Intersociety was created. A possible bill could be Intersociety wants additional funding for more activities. For KZX to request funding just as a living area, we don't really do that just like we don't fund floors. Not that I don't like what you're trying to do, but we just don't do this.
VP Zoboroski: Imma hard cap, we're at 11:50 so we're going to go to recess. We'll continue the rest next week.
Session recessed at 11:50.
