Special Business:

Senator Maxim Keyes sworn in.

Old Business:

Chairman Ko: I want to revisit the lock down drill resolution from last semester. There's talk about changing it, but before we go there, I just want to get another check on what everyone feels about this.

Senator Keyes: Wouldn't this cost money if the police get involved? Like, I am in support of this, but I just want to let it be known that it might cost more money.

Senator Dennis: I was in OChem and the teacher took it lightly since it was near the end of the lecture and he needed to cover some vocabulary.

Senator Kushner: How do we get this treated more seriously?

Chairman Hancock: I feel like one thing is classrooms, but how would we enforce this in open spaces like saga or the student center?

Senator Osburn: Maybe we can just plan the drill so that it is when those areas are closed, but I was in the hive and did not know where to go.

VP Byrne: Couple things to say here. The current TFO president is John Tixier. This is one of his big talking points. There were only five reported classrooms he heard that actually took yesterday's lockdown drill seriously. Response time is also a big factor in this. Longview PD would have to get here, and our UPD generally consists of minimal manpower. On the TFO meeting Tuesday, there will be discussion on the subject.

PPT Farmer: Should we pass this along to the TFO?

Senator Keyes: Since they are already talking about it, we shouldn't really be talking much about this?

VP Byrne: This is just to add another voice for when the matter is brought up to higher powers.

Senator Keyes: What about for people who have to go to the bus for the airport?

VP Byrne: In a real scenario, the bus wouldn't be a consideration in my opinion.

Announcements:

VP Byrne: There's a YAC event this week, I don't know what it is.

Senators: Trivia night!

VP Byrne: Ice cream ice cream. If you could help with picking up ice cream that would be great.

Open Forum:

VP Byrne: If anyone wants to help with the constitution, please get with Lilith. We are looking at total overhaul. I talked to Dr. Conn about it. David talked to Dr. Morgan about it. Redundancies gone. Putting all club funding in the physical constitution so that they can't be changed.

Senator Kushner: Say that there is a club that is not active anymore, and it doesn't plan on being active anymore. Is there a way to access those funds?

VP Byrne: Talk to Ms. Wanda about it and if you get the right authorization, you could get it transferred.

Dr. Conn: Also, after two years, it would be back to Senate's fund or used to sort out outstanding balances.

Motion to recess.
